About G.J. Gardner — Manukau Major Projects
Manukau Major Projects is one of the 'wholesale' build franchises within the G.J. Gardner network. They undertake larger build projects in the Manukau and Central Auckland areas for a number of clients including Kainga Ora, Tamaki Regeneration Company, Iwi, Church groups and a large number of developers.
The Challenge
G.J.MMP had low turnover but onboarding was paper-based, manual and time-consuming for managers, and inconsistent for new employees and contractors. Different roles had different requirements and new starters didn’t always get what they needed, or know what they needed to know.
They already had a lot of great induction documents and good systems (including an HRIS - Human Resource Information System) but it wasn’t streamlined and it wasn’t putting people first and creating the right experience for the brand.
I wanted to let you know what an awesome experience it has been implementing the Induction App into our company.

With their Induction App, everything came together creating a great experience for new employees and contractors, even before their first day. It feels professional and polished, and different roles are presented with different pathways. It’s now much easier for managers to support their new people along the journey, seeing where they’re at and how they’re going, and having richer conversations.
G.J.MMP took it even further and launched it to all their people so everyone was on the same page. They also use Induction App to capture and monitor against role KPIs and goals.
It was perfect timing having an app to use when we had x5 new staff. They all love The Induction App which is awesome!
Now we have implemented to our existing staff and been able to customize to our requirements it works perfectly for what we need. We can use the app to collate a lot of information into one place.
